NKF Health Screening and Talk

On the 23th of November 2011, Pangkor Hall Committee had organised a NKF Health Screening and Talk. The Health Screening was held at SA, 1st Floor while the talk was held at F1A24. The crew from National Kidney Foundation(NKF) came to my uni to conduct this event. The event was very successful as it attracted more than 100 participants. This event was fully sponsored by Pangkor Hall Committee, and it was free for all on-campus residents and staff. Meanwhile, donation for NKF was held, to collect fund for their event, you can choose to donate or not. The screening included blood pressure test, BMI, random blood glucose and cholesterol test, urine test and free counseling. All of it can be done within 20 minutes. Here are some picture from the event :

In the evening, there was a Health Talk entitled Organ Donation: A Gift of Life, held at F1A24. The talk contents were Organ Donation in Malaysia, Type of Organ Donor, Tissue Donation and etc. The speaker was Mdm Annie Cheong from NKF. She is a very enthusiasm worker, she keep sharing the importance of health and organ donation to all of us. One of the golden sentence was "Your parents will proud of you, if you had died, even though they can't see you but at least they will know that your organ still alive, alive on others body." From her, I saw the enthusiasm and attitude of a worker toward her job that she shows how she love her job. I hope that I can be that enthusiasm toward my job after graduation and even in the old age stage. However, back to the organ donation issue, I just haven't prepared to do that decision, to become a donor, maybe years later.

Inter-hall Telematch Event

Unbelievable that my team, Pangkor Hall managed to get the champion for this event, on last Thursday. As I am a hall committee member, I need to support my own team, so I need to take part in this event (lack of ppl). Began from two people, we managed to form a team and the best team just right after a phone call. I was really appreciated and felt thankful to my friend for his effort to call his friends after receiving my call. It all started with hopeless, but ended up with a won of extra one point. That's why friendship really means a lot. Win or lose is not the matter, the most important is the interesting and memorable experience. The following are the photo from the event.

~Enjoy~

New Custard Bun
Today, I did nothing regarding my studies, I just tend to relax, after a few tiring week, even though there are some assignments in progress. When shop around the 7-eleven at my uni, I just realised that High-5 did made custard bun, is it new? However, when I tasted it, I was not quite like the filling, too sticky and taste artificial(flavoring).
Dory Fish Fillet Rice
After that I went to Midvalley to have a fun day with my friends, keep enjoying. At the food junction, I ordered a Dory Fish Fillet Rice, costs RM 12.90 (before tax).
Snowflake!!
Japan Combo

And its time for dessert and it's absolutely SNOWFLAKE, after waiting for some times, we got our seats. I ordered a Japan Combo, while my friend ordered a Best Seller Ice. This was the first time I tasted the Japan Combo since I had "isolated" for some weeks. The Japan Combo tasted quite nice with the soy ice, ocha ball, red bean and baby pearl. As a "green teaholic", I suggested that the taste for the Ocha balls should be thicker.
Then, we met up with more friends for movie time. We choose to watch "You Are The Apple Of My Eye" (那些年,我們一起追的女孩), that we had waited for quite long. This is a Taiwanese movie and is quite nice. It's directed by Giddens (九把刀), and Ko Chen-tung (柯震東) and Michelle Chen (陳妍希) are the main casts of the movie. It actually based on the novel by Giddens and it was a true story. The story is about a beautiful and clever girl, Shen Chia Yi (沈佳宜), act by Michelle Chen, who had caused many boy fall in love with her in her school. Giddens act by Ko Chen-tung was the only boy that not love her. After some period, Shen had actually fall for Giddens and stared to prepare exercise for Giddens in order to improve his result. Then, when his result getting better they bet that if he can beat her, than she will need to tied her hair in horse tail style. The sweet point is that, when the result came out, he got no. 2 while she remain getting no.1, Giddens go to barber to shave his hair short while she still tied up her hair even though she won. After their graduation ceremony, they got their exam. Unfortunately, she not doing well in her exam. Giddens go to her house to console her. And they are divided to the different university. The boy always called her and met her sometimes, he still haven't get the confident to get the answer from her. Then, he realised that he need to do something important in order to shows his advantage to her, and he had organised a fighting competition. He invited her to the competition but she was really angry with him on doing this stupid, childish thing that will hurt himself. It was the sad part that both of them broke up. TT They seldom contact each other after that, until when the earthquake happened, he was really worried about her, but at that time she already got a boyfriend. Finally, many years after graduation from the university, he received a call from her, but it was really sad that she told him that she gonna married with other guy. It was the saddest and touchiest point in this movie that they reviewed all things that had happened between them before and Shen is gonna married with other guys. My tears nearly drop down at this moment. The movie ended as Giddens felt that when you are really love someone, you will really happy that she had found her Mr Right and live happily but not jealousy.

Eat n Eat

Chicken Tempura Bento

Yesterday, the Japanese Society of my uni had held a bento sales. They sold Chicken Tempura Bento(RM 8), Vegetarian Tempura Bento (RM 6) and Japanese Curry Rice (RM 5). When I passed by the stall, I decided to buy a Chicken Tempura Bento and it's quite expensive for me. In the box, it contents rice, chicken tempura (very small pieces), sausage egg rolls, mashed potato, cucumber and grapes. It was definitely not what bento that I was thinking of, with sushi and some truly Japanese dishes. However, it not harms to try new things as I was bored with the cafeteria foods.

Today, I had tried the tunamagik (Malay) to make my own 'fried rice without frying'. It totally easy to prepared it, all you need just 2 bowl of rice with one can of tunamagik either original (spicy) or sambal (extra spicy) flavour. The one that I used is original flavour. To prepare it, first you need to cook your rice. Then, when the rice is still hot, mix it together with the tuna, and that's it. SIMPLE n EASY! How about the taste? For me the taste is just normal, not very nice and special. And it tasted just like one type of the Chinese canned food (non-halal) but this one is made from tuna. To comment about it, it was too oily.
Last week, I received my hoodies. I bought one in dark blue colour and it cost me 60 bucks. I like it very much and only wearing it during exam because LOL, the exam hall is too cold.

About my life, this week, I am still busy doing my report, assignment and presentation stuff, so I just manage to update my blog once a week, eventhough I am busy. Besides that, still got two design for robotic competition and EXAM...
Haizz..

IEM 'Wet n Wild Beach Party' @ Glory Beach Resort, Port Dickson

The Glory Beach Resort
Take a picture before going to the beach
Our event
On Nov 22, my uni's IEM club had organised a 'Wet n Wild Beach Party' at Glory Beach Resort, Port Dickson. Unfortunately, I only manage to update my blog today as my friend just upload the photo to facebook last week and I am freaking busy this week. This is my busiest week since I started my uni life. I had three exams, two quizzes, two reports and others club and societies matter, but all of that are over and I need to start doing next week reports and other tutorials that had been delayed due to the test. Back to the trip, it took around 2hours journey from my uni, as the bus driver didn't know the way well. This was my first visit to Port Dickson, but my friend told me not to expect too high as that may let me down. After reaching there, we did took many photos.

After being separated in to groups, we started to played the game, from beach balls to holding water competition and other more. The team that had scored most high marks will be the winner of the event. My friend and I did enjoy playing the game. Finally, orange team won the competition, it was a team formed by most of the International students (Pakistanis) and they really played in very rude way.

Then, we walked along the beach to feel the sea breeze and took more photos. The dinner started just right after I took my bath, we had bbq meal as our dinner, consists of chicken, fish, steak, curry, fruits, salad, dessert and etc. I was really full after having my meal. We played the poker card after dinner, in many ways, black jack, heart attack ... before watching the fire show. Finally, we took the bus on 8.45pm and arrive at uni about 10.30pm and I just slept after came back to my room.

Overall, I think that this was a good experience for me to travel with friends, had time with them and enjoyed together. The trip was not bad in term of experience and friendship, but I felt that the beach was too small as at my hometown, we can play around along the whole beach, unlike at Port Dickson that had occupied by the resorts.

For next week, I hope that I had more time to be spent on leisure that academic stuff as I had finished all my lab classes and just left over two reports to be submitted next week and Monday is the public holiday, no class on Tuesday but... still got a lot of stuff to be solved... Moral Studies assignment and presentation, reports, poster designing, Study Skills presentation, electricity test, first aid and.....
However, Nitez~
